Compund vs Singular

Most people who hit the gym tend to focus on single parts of their body on a day-to-day basis. Although its not the worst way to go about it, results may vary and there is a easier way to obtain the muscles you desire, in a sorter period of time.
Compound exercises require work from more than one muscle. For a beginner it is best to start off with these compound exercises rather than isolation exercises because they put stress on your muscles, joints, ligaments, and tendons. So instead of isolating separate muscles the body is being built as a whole.
The reason compound exercises are so effective is because the body is composed is several related parts. For those focusing on gaining weight and heavy muscle you really need to focus solely on compound movements. Doing so will result in you surpassing your target weight.
Examples of compound movements would be bench press, dead lifts, squats, and military press. As you notice if you perform these movements, they are related with the movements we make during everyday life such as lifting a heavy box could be related to a dead lift. This makes these exercises really advantageous in building overall strength as well
The video below is a great example of compound exersing by Sixpackshortcuts workout coach Mike Chang.
